You know there's something wrong when:
I trucked out to see the Golden Compass last night with the people (not, strictly, my people, but a people to whom I sort of belong). It was, well, okay. There was some stuff that was right some stuff that was wrong and some stuff that was. And then there were the knits.
Yeah. You know there's something congenitally wrong with you when you spend the whole of a much-anticipated movie trying to figure out the composition of the knitting. Which, by the by, was gorgeous. There were lovely rich thick knits. It made me so happy and calm.
The movie itself? Freaked me out a little and seemed unfinished. But was nice.
For a pretty long time I was stuck. There's, at this point, forever a box of unfinished knitting and crochet in my life. Lots of it, I admit is precisely that, knitting that needs to be sewn up or stuffed or lined, ends that need weaving in, buttons that need fastening. One day, though, I pulled out this little sweater, potentially also an egg cosy (yea, that's a little egg cup with feets) and sewed up the two underarm seams - all that remained between me and an egg cup cosy. It wasn't that big a step but it felt like a little breakthrough. And since then, I've been able to put a few other projects in my pocket, and it feels good to be able to finish some stuff up and move on.
I have a tonne of projects in mind. Halloween's over which means that Christmas music is playing in all the stores and it's *time*. As much as I'm not particularly fond of Halloween, I love Christmas, up to and including 2 months of canned music.
